- Type: International Course
- Date: November 21st – December 2nd, 2011
- Place: Institut Pasteur de Montevideo
The aim of the course is to offer training opportunities to PhD students and Post-docs in Functional Genomics, a rapidly envolving area of biomedicine and biotechnology with high impact in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of human and animal disease. The first edition of this course two years ago was mainly focused on microarray technologies. Today, the advent of next-generation sequencing technologies (NGS), and the application of new mutational screening strategies are taking genome studies to new dimensions. Therefore, in this updated second edition, the focus will be put not only on basic microarray technologies but it will also include the latest knowledge on NGS and genome-wide RNAi high-throughput screening techniques.
