The development of simplified or coarse grain (CG) representations of molecular systems added to the growth of computational power allow nowadays for the study of size and timescales that really match those biologically and technologically relevant.
The Institut Pasteur de Montevideo will offer in September-October 2011 a hands-on course on simulations of biological systems to provide a comprehensive and wide spectrum of CG techniques.
This event will count with internationally recognized speakers in the field. As it will be conducted in English, participants must have an adequate working knowledge of this language.
As a rule, travel expenses of the participants are borne by their home institutions. However, limited funds are available for participants, who are working in a developing country, and who are not more than 45 years of age. Such support will be available to partially cover accommodation and subsistence only to those attending the entire activity. More information about these funds will be provided to the selected participants.
The Course will also aim to create an interdisciplinary collaboration amongst all the attendees by dedicating an entire session to oral presentations. Dissemination of the participants' work, besides that of the main speakers, will help form networks of collaborative work and stimulating capacity building.
