Flow Cytometry
MoFlow high speed cell sorter (Beckman Coulter)
This instrument has the capability to:
- Sort a total event rate of over 30,000 per second
- Analyze a total event rate of over 50,000 per
- Up to 4 populations can be sorted simultaneously (4-way sorting)
- Cell/well cloning directly into tissue culture trays with up to 96 wells/tray
It is equipped with:

CyAn Flow Cytometer (Beckman Coulter)
- Size of a cell: Forward light Scatter (FSC) expresses the.
- Granularity of a cell: Side light Scatter (SSC) expresses the.
- Fluorescent parameters:

- Fluorescence resolution: coefficient of variation (CV) is <3% full peak for PE & FITC SpectrAlign beads.
- Flow rates: Up to 150 µl/min
- Processing speed: up to 70,000 events per second.
- Analysis capability: up to 100,000,000 event data files
Data analysis
The cell biology Unit provides the following flow cytometry data analysis software:
- SUMMIT 4.3
- FlowJo 7.6.4
- FCSExpress 4 Flow research edition
Technical assistance is offer in sample preparation, reagent purchase, experimental design and experimental data analysis.
Trainings and education is available for all the new users.
We are also open to establish collaborations and have an active involvement in your research providing intellectual and practical assistance.

- Inverted Microscope Leica DMI6000CS
- Fixed or live samples with temperature and CO2 control (Ludin cube)
- Two spectral tunable detectors
- Fast resonant scanner
- 3D z-stacks, timelapse, FRAP/FLIP/Photoactivation, FRET
- Filter Wheel: A: Excitation 340-380nm/Emission 425, I3: Excitation 450-490nm/Emission 515nm, N2.1: Excitation 515-560nm/Emission 590nm
- Objectives: 20x NA 0.70 water / glycerol /oil 63X NA 1.42 oil
- Laser lines available: Argon 488nm: 458/476/488/496/514, HeNe 543nnm, HeNe 594nm, HeNe 633nm
- Image acquisition and processing is made through LASAF v2.2.0.

Technical Assistance
The microscopy facility offers assistance in sample preparation, reagent purchases, image acquisition, troubleshooting and image processing and analysis.
Trainning and education is available for all the new users.
