4800 MALDI TOF/TOF Analyzer Mass spectrometer, Abi Sciex

The 4800 MALDI TOF/TOF™ Analyzer is a new-generation tandem time-of-flight MS/MS system that gives you all the advantages of MALDI in a flexible, easy-to-use, ultra-high-performance, high resolution mass spectrometer. Its main use in our laboratory is to perform:  high throughput protein identification from liquid mixtures or 1D or 2D SDS-PAGES by peptide mass fingerprint and/or MS/MS ion search.

LTQ Velos + ETD Mass spectrometer, Thermo

The LTQ Velos is a 2D-linear ion trap mainly used for proteomic applications, including protein identification, detailed peptide mapping and PTM characterization. Identification of proteins is performed on proteolytic digests separated by reverse phase- nanoflow LC associated with MS/MS and subsequent database searches using the Proteome Discoverer software with Mascot and Sequest search engines. Our system is coupled with a Thermo-Proxeon Easy-Nano HPLC.
